A little about me

Cats have been my whole life

I'm an animal lover through and through — 43, and based right here in Heanor. I'm fully insured, my DBS check is on its way, and after a lifetime around cats there's very little I haven't come across.

I'm a very proud cat mum to two indoor girls — Maizy, my lively 8-year-old livewire, and Missy, my gentle 17-year-old senior who keeps me on my toes.

Living with a senior cat with chronic renal disease means I'm comfortable with the things that worry owners most: giving medication mixed into food, managing renal and prescription diets, and watching eating, drinking and litter habits closely so I notice when something's even slightly off. We'll always talk through exactly what your cat needs first.

Over the years I've also cared for cats with complex, ongoing conditions, and for nervous, reactive cats who'd rather not be handled. I read body language, respect their boundaries and never force a fuss — so even the cats who turn other sitters away can feel safe and settled with me.

Both of my girls are indoor cats, so I know first-hand the worry of someone coming into your home — and the fear of a cat slipping out the door. I'm naturally careful and door-conscious, and I'll treat your home and your cat's safety with the very same caution I use every day with my own.

Cats are my world, and cats are all I take on. I'm also allergic to dogs, so I look after dog-free homes only — which keeps every visit calm, comfortable and completely focused on your cat.

Your cat won't be a job to tick off. They'll be treated like family — because that's exactly how I treat mine.

The cats who taught me everything

Meet my girls

Maizy, a sleek black cat curled up in her cat tree
Maizy 8 · the live wire

My lucky black cat and resident livewire — endlessly playful and always up for the toy mouse being thrown one more time. She keeps me well practised in play, energy and keeping a young cat happily entertained.

Missy, a tortoiseshell cat stretched out in the sunshine
Missy 17 · the wise one

My gentle tortie senior. She lives with kidney disease and, since beating a nasal tumour years ago, a permanent little snuffle that's simply part of who she is now. Caring for her daily means I know complex, ongoing needs inside out — and the difference between a cat's "normal" and a real worry.

Remembering Milo

My late boy Milo was, lovingly, a bit of a handful — a cat who didn't much respect hands and would bite or scratch if he was rushed. Caring for him for years taught me how to read a nervous, reactive cat, to move at their pace and never force a fuss. It's experience I bring to every shy or spiky cat I meet, and the reason the cats who turn other sitters away are safe with me. We lost him to pancreatic cancer, but everything he taught me lives on in how I care for yours.

Not just cats

I look out for the local wildlife too

My garden regulars

That instinct to care for animals doesn't stop at my front door. A whole family of foxes visits my garden, and I keep a watchful, respectful eye on them and the birds alike. It's simply who I am — so whoever, or whatever, is in my care, big or small, I'm always paying attention.
